1) Does the administrative portion of your patient files include:
a) a copy of a personal check?
b) a signed COB letter?
Do you have a dedicated team member responsible
for obtaining this information?
2) If you are a discipline that is seeing a patient requiring a multi visit
treatment plan (i.e. chiropractic, physical therapy, pain management),
do you fully understand your patient’s benefits regarding copay,
deductibles, coinsurances, non covered codes, etc.?
3) Do you feel your office is effective at collecting patient payments
over the counter and through statement billing?
4) Are you submitting claims electronically?
5) Do you get denials for timely filing?
6) Have you provided your NPI number(s) to all insurance carriers you
are submitting to?
7) Do you feel you are effectively submitting to secondary and
tertiary carriers?
8) Do you fully understand and evaluate your EOBs for proper
reimbursement?
9) Do you feel you and your staff are knowledgeable with regard to
the contracts you hold and how they affect your practice and
ultimately your reimbursement?
10) Do you understand how to properly manage your Medicare patients
or your auto accident /workers’ comp patients?
